2014 Highlights!

Another year, another round of moments to remember and to give gratitude to. It has been quite an eventful year, education transition, forging new friendships and having so many "firsts".

1. Henna (February)
Giving Henna tattoo a try back when there was this flea event in poly, it was kinda cool but the smell I can't really tolerate. Good experience though! XD

2. 5km Charity Run (February)
The first 5km I ran for charity together with my dear friends. It was tiring and a long journey but who would have thought I actually managed to overcome it. Wahahaha sense of accomplishment. Thank you to the girls for the encouragement to run(:

3. Avril Lavigne Concert (March)
Childhood idol since primary school, of course should go and see Avril performed live. Thanks YX for accompany me for going to the concert.

4. Herbalife Event (May)
First event job I think. Nice to see people from different countries coming to Singapore for the event, interacting with them in some way and meet really nice and kind people to work with.

5. Poly Graduation (May)
The long awaited graduation. Bittersweet feeling but overall I'm glad I completed a diploma course and gain so much from learning new knowledge and creating new memories with new found friends that will probably last a lifetime. Thankful for the good lecturers and tutors too.

6. USS with 8ights (May)
Not everyone came but still first time to USS with a bigger group so it was a good chance to bond and make even more good memories together. Heh heh.

7. FSC 2014 (June)
Transition to Uni life was kinda bumpy since I'm taking a whole new course. Lucky I went for the orientation camps and got to know the school better and hanging out with seniors and freshmen. Probably has been a long time in awhile where I experienced so many embarrassing and awkward moments. Just thinking of the silly things we do to get more points just made me feel embarrassed all over again but yet it was fun and exciting, however to even strike a conversation with them seems difficult and so thoroughly awkward now. Probably it is just me feeling this way. Haha.

8. FOW 2014 (July)
Another camp which is much bigger in scale and meeting my course mates. Yup,  another series of mortifying moments made and I'm still like an awkward turtle. Meeting another group of  kind seniors and freshmen really made it another awesome camp.

9. Bash (August)
This conclude the last segment of orientation, first time in a club and my platforms break.

10. NTU Fest-Kang Gary and Jung In Live (August)
Free admission so why not? Kang Gary and Jung In performed live and in sync. Best time ever. Thanks HF for sharing this moment with me.

11. 10km NUSRun (August)
Thought I would never need to run long distance again. Well, I accomplished yet another milestone of 10km.

12. Visiting AMKFSC and Tembusu RH (September)
Thanks to getting the chance to learn more about social work, I got to visit the social services/agencies. Hats off to all the social workers, their job seriously ain't easy and finally learnt the difference between social workers and volunteers.

13. Meeting Jenn Im (October)
This is like my most prized possession right now. So glad I went ahead to meet Jenn when she came to Singapore. Hopefully will get another chance to see her in 2015. Hehes. Ta-da I'm showing the photo again, it was just a really wonderful feeling.

14. SISC 2014 (December)
Another event job I'm grateful to be a part of since it had to do with music and super talented and young kids playing violins. Meeting yet another group of nice and good people to work with.

15. Volunteer Work (December)
Asked by my friend to join and although had to wake up real early but seeing the elderly so united and accompany them to go for a stroll with an ocean view was satisfying. They perhaps don't have much chances to go out and explore so going on this trip should be meaningful ad refreshing for them. Thank you DJ for accompany me on this trip.

16. Slumber "Party"/ New Year Countdown (December)
Last but not least, since last year already spent the New year countdown at Marina Bay Float, this year I got to stay over at YX's home and countdown together in front of TV. BIGBANG in HD, no need to squeeze with the crowd, enjoyed at the comfort at home felt good too. Thank you YX for the invite!

Surprisingly, this year had quite a lot of good things happening. Totally appreciative of all of it and may 2015 be a even better year ahead for all of us.

Jolly Christmas

That one time I tried the colourful and different flavoured Xiao Long Baos at Paradise Dynasty. The water and flavour in the xlbs just burst out when bite into it...Yums.
Another round of Christmas gifts exchange this year with my lovely friends. HF even baked macarons and rainbow cakes for us. Her baking skills is superb, hehes!

Such coincidence that I'm her secret santa and she's mine, teehee. Thank you for the presents~
Dinner at Ikea, crazy crowd, lucky managed to find seats for all of us and had a really good meal when it comes to sharing every dish^^

With my polymates, first time went to St Games Station and play, expensive but had fun playing the rock band 3. It was goooood and now I kinda want a xbox or wii at home so I can play too, hahahas.
Watched Night at the Museum 3 too which was super touching and funny. Sadly it is the last of the series:/ Thankful to have you girls for company!(:

Another year coming to an end. So glad still keeping in contact with these dear friends of mine even we are all on different paths, hope this will continue on into the future and this Christmas had been splendid. Wouldn't ask for more. (:

Post-Exams Adventures

Hello internet! I really have been enjoying these few weeks of holidays...the temporary feeling of having nothing to worry about, nothing to do is pretty awesome. Won't time just stop here? :B

Caught The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, can't wait for the finale! Albeit most scenes were draggy and they could just go to the main point instead of keep sending the video responses back and forth for many times. Heh heh.

Sunday lunch with my girls, we ate at Spageddies, portion is pretty decent and cheesy!Yums. Since I've not tried both LlaoLlao & Honey Creme, while majority only tried the froyo, the girls are kind enough to buy both to share together. Hehes, LlaoLlao definitely is more worth it although I kinda like that the ice cream for Honey Creme is not sweet : o

Got the opportunity to work for another event this year, where I got to see these kids making music and given such a good performance for their parents & teachers. Can't help but feel inspired by them, seeing how talented they are when playing the violins. It must also had been stressful for both the parents & kids too...trying to nurture them at a young age with music so that maybe in the future they may take up this profession or simply to build their portfolio for future employers. I feel a twinge of competitiveness too, how the society has developed over the years, each new generation getting better than the next. You snooze, you lose. :/

Glad to have a fun  and nice team to work with! Hopefully there will be chance to work for this event again in the future!(:

After a good amount of delay, I finally met up with buddies for dinner at Folks Collective, the Thai food are super flavourful. Would recommend their signature wings(or rather drumlets) and clear tom yum soup. Nom nom nom~

On a very early morning, got the chance to volunteer to accompany a group of elderly for a morning walk at Labrador Park. The ocean was beautiful and look so clear. This group of elderly are living on their own and seeing how they took care of each other really warms my heart. Wished I spoke better dialect and mingle more with them, hahas but was just too awkward and worried I'll say the wrong things >.<

Anyway, I will do better next time. Maybe should communicate more with my grandma first. A big thank you to Da Jie for coming with me and its was a magical and heart warming morning to me. ^^

Just like that,my almost 4 weeks of holidays is gonna be over. Thank God I managed to pass all the modules. PHEW. Wanted to start catching up on the weaker modules I had but can't seem to find the motivation,GRRRRRRR. I need a personal(& free) tutor, period. Jiayou ah Peggy...Jiayou.

On the bright side, can't wait to celebrate Chirstmas with friends later this week! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D

Finally, it is Ending in November

I guess after some self-reflection, talking it out with family and friends, I pressed on. Even though it is gonna be tough, I'm suppose to grow stronger and withstand this pressure like how everyone else is doing...right? I am still thankful that I met really good OG mates that are willing to help me out and lecturer/tutors that taught pretty well and made the lessons engaging. Gonna miss most is the English class, though no credits are given, always have to wake up at 5am+ to get to school, the tutor and class was just something I look forward to. Haha.

Met my lovely Year 3 clique one fine Saturday and just chill and catch up with each other too. Missed having them for company in school:(
Had shared so much laughters and our disdain for the usual things in poly, hahahas.

After that is revision for final exams, not exactly doing what I should do during study week so all the last minute study was push till exams was nearing. Bad move but I never learnt. Sigh. Praying as long as I could pass all modules it would be the best Chistmas present or next year birthday present. This is how serious it had become. Please please please just let me pass all the modules. Sigh.

Shall update again next time.

Surfing Through October

This month is where the climax is reaching and things goes downhill from here. Wait, not really but rather some high and low. Hahahas.

A break from the hardcore studying, we made time for each other again to have Korean Army Stew, always never fail to taste flavourful and the spicy kick is just freaking awesome.

Since I missed Jenn Im the first time round, remember Digital Fashion Week? Waited in line for 2 hours+ finally I was able to meet my fave Youtubers - Stephanie & Jenn Im!!! Luckily I was there early cos the crowd just kept growing bigger as the time moved on. Literally so nervous when walking up to them and yay I got a hug from Jenn, saw myself for a nanosecond in her vlog and a like from Stephanie for Instagram! #cheapthrills

Definitely made my day and both of them was pretty in real person, needless to say oozing with the coolness vibe and just really being friendly and nice with their fans(:

Hopefully could see them again here next time! I shall bring some treats for them too. Hehes!

Grateful for at least having 2 pretty good happenings for this month. School was just...further aggravated by the results I received from tests. The last time I failed a test was like in secondary school, never thought it could happen again now. This showed consistency is the key and well...either you got the intelligence or you don't.

A Hint of Truth in September

Caught Maze Runner movie on a Wednesday, interesting story plot and the actors are good looking!

Hope there will be sequel for it. As part of this paricular module I had taken, which gave a overview of what social work is, I got the opportunity to visit a Family Service Centre and a Residential Home. So lucky that both locations are near my home and did not know it existed until I learnt about it. Anyway, the people and social workers from the FSC and RH were super nice and friendly to us, sharing their experiences, information on what they did and giving us a token of appreciation. Totally salute these people. Such perseverance and having a heart of gold to help the rest of the society to function better on top of their own personal life. Seriously.

Caught  Guardians of the Galaxy with mum, a good action and comedy flick too! No disappointment there.

This was probably the time where I felt like giving up cos everything just seem so hard and I question again where my interest/life goal lies. Going through everyday just to survive and truthfully I was barely hanging on and on the verge of just heck care everything. Wallowing in self-pity and just keep thinking I'm not good enough. Ha. Of course this does nothing to my esteem and motivation to go on.

It is like I'm not here but also not there. But somewhere in between some current and just going with it. It's depressing as hell.

Hectic August

I'm back! After surviving the first semester of Uni life. No kidding it was super chaotic and I was swamped with the tutorials, projects, events that I signed up for. Result? Spent almost everyday trying to catch up on the different modules and finishing the assignments . Hardly had time to breathe literally. The journey ahead is a tough one...Anyway  this is a backdated post before the school work snowballed.

Managed to meet my ladies for steamboat on one weekend. Had a really good meal chatting and catching up as usual!

Since the orientation camp I joined had bash at a club, this became my first visit to a club...I know I know I am still living in a cave. Since going as a big group is much safer so yea it was a good experience. Do I wanna go back again? Not really, I can't stand the flashing lights and loud music, sooner or later my ears probably can't take it.

So Kang Gary & Jung In came to Singapore for NTU Fest. Since it was a free event, I went with HF to see them sing live and yes live performance was awesome, singing was totally on point and I thoroughly enjoyed it! ^^

Having registered for RunNUS with the OG, I am proud to say I survived the 10km run!!:DDD
Well mostly I'm walking for the whole journey...BUT STILL achievement unlocked!!!Not gonna do this again. Think my lifespan probably had been reduce by a few years. Another good and tough experience, #YOLO right?

A short dinner with JX one day at her nearby workplace. Dayum the dim sum and porridge were exceptionally yummy!!! Must go back there again to try their other dishes! Plus the prices are reasonable so another plus point for that, heh heh.

Attended workshops to cope better with studies and wahahaha I didn't put it into use  >.<
Yoga and Zumba during a Friday night that I had a lot of fun just dancing and shaking off all the stress and frustrations~ Hope there's gonna be another one to join again! Teehee.
Wedding dinner on the last day of this month and honestly, food and view wasn't that great but still bride and groom looked good together and blessed marriage to them!

Sums up another memorable month!(:

Fancy July

Not really a fancy month but this word just pop into my mind XD
Can't believe pre-university life was already this busy and boom another month just flew passed. Taught me that time is really precious, on one hand I like having so many things to do but on the other I just want to stay at home and have some me and family time. Pick and choose:/

Anyway these sweet girls were kind enough to celebrate my belated birthday after my work. Looked extremely tired in photos hahas please pardon my face. Astons food as always were good. Missing out Sharifah though. Hope we get to plan another meetup again soon. Thanks so much for the lovely presents + HK souvenirs!(:

Went for the dreaded QET on Wednesday then dinner with 8ights at town. Tried Kenny Rogers for the first time and everything was not bad but after awhile of eating the same things I got sick of it cos too creamy for the mac & cheese and pita bread + sauce was just...As usual happy to have them for company!(:

Though I was just a temp at my office job was invited to join them for K night. Had a fun time listening to them sing, eating and a wee bit of drinking heh!

Finally ended work and started going to school for programming workshop. Dang was it difficult to grasp as it gets to the end. Given the activities the school organised for us, totally no time to practice. Ok fine plus I procrastinate too when there was time. Must must try to do it before school officially starts.

Met up with bestie for the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It was pretty cool then head to Poulet for dinner! Love the onion soup we ordered and most dishes were on the pricey side so ordered sandwich, which was tasty as well but difficult to cut and there was too much filling for me.

Met up with SKYH for dinner too, had a nice time catching up with them and just chill throughout the evening!^^

Volunteer at MINDSville@Napiri with a group of schoolmates. It was quite a fun and interesting experience to interact with the kids! Glad I went for it.

Then came my 2nd camp, FOW with another group of nice people. Had a great time with them throughout the camp too!(: Photo credits to the various OGLs from the camp!

University really is an extremely big place, having met and seen so many different types of people, they had so many achievements till date while I have like...nothing or rather paled in comparison to what they had done. Hahas. Suddenly it just felt so competitive not just academically but social networks etc too. Makes me wanna do much more too but the first step is my willingness to try. I shall try.

Thanks for reading!
